Microblading Aftercare

MICROBLADING AFTERCARE

Please follow the aftercare instructions to prevent loss of pigment, discoloration, or infection.

Day 1

1.       Leave your new brows alone for the first hour after treatment

2.       With clean hands, wipe your new brows gently with filtered or bottled water using a soft cotton pad (it is normal to see pigment on the pad)

3.       Gently pat your brows dry with a new cotton pad

4.       Apply a TINY amount of ointment on your brows with a clean Q-TIP (be careful- too much ointment can increase scabbing)

5.       Repeat steps 1-4 every 2-3 hours until bedtime

 Day 2- Day 10

1.     With clean hands, wipe your new brows gently with filtered or bottled water using a soft cotton pad

2.     Gently pat dry with a new cotton pad

3.     Apply a very small amount of ointment with a Q-TIP

4.     Repeat steps 1-3 five times a day (try to spread them out evenly)

5.     NO WATER ON THE BROWS FOR 10 DAYS & NO EXCESSIVE SWEATING

6.     DO NOT pick, rub, or cleanse the area with soap or cleanser for 10 days

WARNING: Chlorine, exfoliation creams, and exposure to the sun will cause colors to fade.

Pigments usually scab after 3-5 days.  Allow the scab to flake off naturally.  As the healing progresses, color will soften to its true color after 4-6 weeks.  Do not panic if you think your brows are too dark or too thick during the healing phase. Once fully healed, your new brows will be softer and lighter in color and they will shrink down in thickness as well. Complimentary touch up is no earlier than 30 days and no later than 60 days from your initial appointment.

What You Should Know

•    Absolutely no rubbing and no peeling!  The treated area might feel a little itchy during the recovery process.  Do NOT touch!  Peeling is normal during the second phase of recovery; avoid any peeling of dry skin to avoid peeling out the wrong parts and creating bald spots in your newly reconstructed brows.

•    Keep your hair away from your face to avoid getting an infection.

•    Follow the post-care instruction (above) so your brows can heal properly.

•    DO NOT attempt to “fix” your brows during the 4-6 weeks healing process (trying to get them lighter,

thinner etc.)- this can cause scarring and damage to your unhealed skin! Please trust the process.

The following must be avoided for at least 10 days post-microblading procedure:

o    Sun beds/ tanning

o    Excessive sweating in the gym

o    Swimming

o    Hot sauna/hot bath/Jacuzzi

o    No make-up on the treated areas

o    Avoid any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on or near the treated areas

o    No picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro-pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

o    No smoking to aide your body in optimal healing process

o    Avoid drinking alcohol in excess as it may lead to slow healing of treated areas

o    Avoid exposure to excessive airborne debris on the treated areas such as driving with windows down

Common Reactions of the Healing Process

Day 1: Wow! I have full eyebrows! (Please note: in some clients, this new change can be a shock at first)

Day 2-4:  Truc! I don’t like this color. It’s too dark and the shape is too thick!

Day 5-8:  My brows are flaking and falling off! They’re getting lighter and starting to shrink down!

Day 8-10: My brows are gone!

Day 14-30:  Yay! My brows are coming back!

After Perfecting Session (complimentary for first time clients only):  My Six Sigma’s Brows look even more amazing after touchup!
